Rise of Nations
Looming over all the hills in the northern Kamelands, a graying hulk of an enormous sycamore tree clings precariously to the last vestiges of its life. An awe-inspiring specimen with branches that reach over 150 feet in height and a trunk as thick as a house, it is well-known as a landmark and visible for miles around. Unfortunately, the tree was also infested with mites, who spent their days perfecting grisly pranks and torturing small animals or any poor souls luckless enough to fall into their clutches. These mites also bred giant vermin as pets, and their pride and joy was an immense whiptail centipede that lurked within the heart of their burrow, to whom they would offer sacrifices and their devotion. While the party was able to wipe out most of the mites in their initial assault at the Old Sycamore, they were chased from the tree by the giant whiptail centipede. It wasn’t until later, when the safety of their colonists traveling south to was being threatened by the unchecked proliferation of centipedes that they returned to the sycamore to deal with the giant insects once and for all. Now that the den has been cleared, Johannes is hoping to find a way to revive the dying tree and eventually establish a settlement in its branches.
