Rise of Nations
The Lonely Barrow
The isolated barrow mound of a fallen barbarian warrior-king has stood in this section of the Kamelands for over a thousand years. Centaur tribes living in the area sealed off the tomb centuries ago but the earth near the mound has subsided, and countless cycles of freezing winters followed by hot summers has cracked the boulder once blocking the entrance, allowing access into its dark depths. Old but still colorful mosaics decorate the walls of the barrow, recounting the life and death of the warlord interred within while harrowing haunts speak in ancient tongues of a terrible misdeed. Two side crypts housed the remains of those warriors honored with the privilege and duty of joining their lord in death and defending his tomb. The main chamber was reserved for the king and there he laid in state, surrounded by all his wealth and finery, the weapons and arms of his defeated foes piled around him, untouched by any living thing in a millennia.
